My name is Kelly Shanley Intriligator and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York City. I'm here to listen. Using a gestalt approach and mindfulness techniques that focus on the here and now, I'd like to help you to increase awareness into how certain patterns from the past keep interrupting your ability to be happy in the present. I'm here to offer support and feedback and help you find your own strengths to overcome the obstacles in your life.
I believe that making the decision to seek therapy is one of the most courageous and empowering decisions that you can make for yourself.
Believe it or not...just making the phone call to get more information about seeing a therapist can improve your mood and decrease your anxiety.

Because you are finding hope and strength in trying to improve your situation...
Because once you find that hope, there is light at the end of the tunnel: hope for increased joy, hope for better relationships, hope for change, and hope for acceptance.
You decided to make a counseling appointment because you are ready for things to change. What you want to change, of course, varies: it may be you; it may be someone else; it may be a situation. Probably you have already tried some things to fix your problems, but they didn't seem to work. Counseling is another tool. It is a good one, with many aspects, some simple, and some complex. Things sometimes change simply through the process of attending counseling sessions.
